The decree on partial unemployment has just been published.

 

With retroactive effect to applications for partial unemployment filed from 1st March 2020, the decree confirms the following main points:

  • The application may be filed within 2 months after the start of partial unemployment;
  • The opinion of the CSE (company employment and economic committee), which is mandatory, may be received and transmitted within 2 months of the application being filed;
  • The application may relate to a 12-months period,
  • The compensation for employees shall be 70% of the monthly gross salary up to 4.5 “SMIC” (French minimal legal wage), minimum of €8.03 per hour;
  • The authorities have 2 days to respond to an application for partial unemployment, failure to respond after this time shall be deemed as an approval.

 

Further measures should still be taken.
